Laser Therapy for Mental Health in Geelong
Mental health is complex. Mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression or addiction, can often be symptoms of underlying trauma. To achieve long-lasting improvements in mental health, a comprehensive and holistic approach will give you the best chance of achieving your therapeutic goals, for a bright and fearless future.
At Create Balance, we understand that sometimes traditional 'talk therapy' just isn't enough for complex or traumatic mental health concerns. Sometimes our clients need additional and alternative support, to truly give them the best chance at leaving behind their dominating thoughts, feelings, worries and fears.
We offer a comprehensive and holistic approach, complementing psychotherapy with innovative technology. We believe that the combination of all three therapeutic modalities can make significant improvements in the lives of our clients.

- Psychotherapy
- EMDR
- Laser Therapy
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is traditional 'talk therapy'. It is an exploration into one's life, to gain knowledge and to heal from what is causing emotional and sometimes even physical pain. A skilled psychotherapist is able to take clients into their subconscious mind, where most personal suffering resides. We understand that talking about personal suffering can be very difficult for many people and that it sometimes not quite enough to get on top of mental health concerns.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) involves the rapid movement of a client’s eyes, taxing their working memory and enabling them to reprogram their brain. This in turn alleviates and even extinguishes the continuing effects of painful thoughts and memories. As well as visual bilateral stimulation, EMDR can also use tactile and auditory stimulation. This therapeutic modality can be beneficial for clients who struggle to talk about their suffering.
Laser Therapy
Photobiomodulation laser therapy involves the shining of infrared and near infrared light onto targeted areas of the body, which then helps to stimulate, protect, repair and energise the body on a cellular level. During an initial consultation, your laser therapist will identify the most appropriate protocol for you, which may include:
Systemic Photobiomodulation Laser Therapy
A systemic laser therapy treatment will involve a laser being attached to your wrist. The near infrared light penetrates your skin, targeting the bloodstream. It is a relaxing process, as all you are required to do is sit back for a short period of time. Many people find themselves feeling light and relaxed after the systemic treatment.
Transcranial Photobiomodulation Laser Therapy
A transcranial laser therapy treatment will involve a laser being held gently against your head. The infrared and near infrared light penetrates the head's skin and skull, targeting specific areas of the brain tissue. Many people find that their mental health improves after only 1-2 sessions.

Auricular Acupuncture Laser Therapy
Auricular acupuncture is a treatment based on the stimulation of acupuncture points on the ear. These points are believed to be connected to specific parts of the body and brain, as well as specific mental health conditions, such as trauma. When targeted with a laser, the infrared and near infrared light facilitates the healing process for the associated issues. Many people will find that their mental health begins to improve after only 1-2 sessions.
